Handmade # Beautiful Lumba Rakhi For Women
How to make lumba rakhi at home…?
Hi Friends
Today I am sharing my new project lumba rakhi. The Lumba Rakhi is an unusual type of
Rakhi, which is meant for the sister-in-laws (your brother’s wife or bhabhi). The sisters tie these Rakhis to the wrists of the
sister-in-laws. These Rakhis can be commonly seen in the hands of women in
Rajasthan, where they wear these Rakhis along with the bangles. The tradition
of the Lumba Rakhis mainly originated from Rajasthan, but nowadays, it has
become quite popular. Women all over the country can be seen sporting these
Rakhis on Raksha Bandhan.
The Lumba Rakhis are quite different than traditional
Rakhis regarding appearance. These Rakhis are more slender, and vibrant
than the traditional Rakhis which are meant for boys, and men. The vibrant
colour of these Rakhis makes them more beautiful when they are complimented
with the colourful traditional Indian attire.
Let’s start the process
Quilled lumba rakhi- In this project you all need
- Quilling paper red (5mm)
- Quilling tool
- Stones,pearl, color thread
- Glue
Step1: I have taken 5mm red color strips and created a tight coil. I have
used 5 strips for creating this coil. After then apply fevicol one side and let
it dry. After ten minutes I created bell shape from this coil.I have applied
once again glue inner side.
Step 2: I decorated the coil with stones, half pearl. I also prepared color thread along with pearl.
and inserted the thread into the bell with the help of needle.
Lumba created from fabric
In this project you all need
- Red Satin Fabric small piece ( you can take any shining fabric)
- Buckram ( which tailor used to create Shirt collar)
- Stones( different color and size)
- Color Thread ,Glue
Step 2 : I have decorated it with laces, stones and prepared thread with golden and red pearls.you can use any color stones, pearls for designing.
Step 3: After then I stitched straight side and
created a cone, inserted a decorated thread with the help of a needle. In this
way, I have created beautiful lumbas.
